| THE ACCOUNTING OF PRODUCT MOVEMENT IN STOCK | |

Customer Russian primary aluminum supplier with staff of more than 300 000 and embassies in numerous countries of the world. Task Necessity to optimize production and reduce costs of finished goods delivery caused a need to automatize processes of accounting and goods dispatch at company’s warehouses. The company’s authorities decided to use services of a professional company not to distract technical specialists from their current duties. The Andersen specialists were chosen to implement the project. The Andersen solution Before starting software development, our specialists held a number of meetings with the customer’s representatives to specify system requirements and project frames and to make a plan of the project. The meeting resulted in elaboration of specifications and technical assignment for the system. The system was to be implemented on the basis of .NET è Web Services technologies. This decision allowed to abandon the currently characteristic for the customer architecture with terminal access without loss of production and reducing aggregate cost. The system development was iterative. On modeling stage system’s functions were stated and the scale of development was specified. Later it was corrected at the development stage. Additional customer’s requirements arising in the course of project implementation were also included into program sheet. Software tests were carried out along with development as components of the system became available. Introduction of the solution directly at the customer’s manufacture became the key feature of the project implementation. To launch the system at the customer’s manufacture, a network was laid and computers were installed. Taking the qualification of the client’s staff into account, the Andersen specialists developed a maximum simple interface designed for people with little experience of computer work. Advanced fault withstandability of the system guaranteed its sustained operation in such conditions. Project results Consolidation of data about commodity flow in the company’s headquarters. Machine execution of dispatching documents. Data processing acceleration. Creation of diversified reports. Technologies .NET, MS SQL Server 2005, Web Services, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Crystal Reports. Resources The team implementing the project consisted of 10 specialists. Project duration – 12 months. |
