| DEVELOPMENT OF GATHERING SYSTEM FOR INFORMATION COMING FROM TRAVEL AGENCIES | |

Customer The Vysoky Sezon publishing house publishes monthly magazine “Goryachaya liniya. Tourism” and provides its subscribers with the news of tourist business. Starting from 1998 the company started to publish news-letter “BANCO travel-inform” in the Internet, which contained brief offers of travel agencies. Task The customer paid great attention to the efficiency of internal agencies, that’s why Andersen was to improve functions of the current system. The company’s clients needed a new mechanism of advertisement supply, while the number of customer support specialists had to be reduced in spite of growing volumes of incoming information. The Andersen solution The project was implemented by the Andersen Specialists in cooperation with a consultancy, specialists of which drew up technical specification for the system and audited the project. The Andersen specialists were responsible for direct development and introduction of the software. To cope with the set tasks our specialists were taking part in the customer’s operating activities to indicate blocks of staff duties suitable for automatization. For instance, the employees were noticed to spend much time to check the incoming branch standard compliance announcements. To solve the problem a data directory to answer announcements has been worked out. Therefore in the updated system all correct announcements get to site without additional control while incorrect are deleted. The developed software allows companies giving information about tourist services to control their operating account and to order a new one if necessary. Expanded functions of announcement dispatch subscription gives its users an opportunity to adjust it using a considerably extended menu if to compare with the previous version. Daily the new information, which has been received for the last 24-hour period, is automatically sent as e-letter to all subscribers in the data base. Projects results New portal functions allowed to increase the company’s profit by 20% in only 6 months after the system introduction. Customer base rose by 15%. Automatization of key processes reduced the number of technical experts supporting the system from 5 to 3 – one specialist provides portal customer support; the other two are responsible for the incoming information check. Managers of the company got an opportunity to raises the quality of services rendered thanks to individual approach. Technologies .NET, MS SQL Server 2005, Analysis Services, Reporting Services.
